Popy version Grendizer Restoration
As mentioned I got the Shogun for a good price, but it needed some new parts to complete it again.

The damage:
Needle nose pliers ripped through the back of the right fist when someone wanted the shooting insert
Missing chest piece
No sickles with the shogun
Minor breakage on the lower torso piece and head collar

The fixes:
Patched the shooting fist and made a copy of the fist to add to my modular fist molds.
Made a new longer shooting insert from a couple copies of shooting insert for Daimos or GaiKing
Help from Arthur (toylover2010) who made an impression mold of his chest piece
And Arthur loaned me his reproduction sickles to make a clean up set and a mold for my own
Small patch to the lower torso
Haven't done anything to the minor collar damage
I made a 3D rotation view at 3dbin.com  Here is the link, if still good http://3dbin.com/public/lofnhake
Otherwise, below, are several of the pictures of the shogun before fixing
Restoration Process (Fall / Winter 2011)
As I mentioned above, I got a mold of an original chest piece from Arthur and made a plastic copy of it.
The other two molds on each side of it, were for test fitting new feet stickers and a partial copy of a
Uni-Five mazinger fist that is the "popy" looking style in my opinion.  Not all machinders were of this
smaller, but cooler looking fist.

I cleaned up the copy and made my own snap in piece out of firm sculptey that I pressed onto the chest
and into the chest protrusion piece.

Did a test fit and then made a mold of the cleaned up copy which took a couple attempts as the platinum
cure silicone that I normally use didn't like a different brand of clear coat.

But, I finally got a good mold made and Viola!!, I was able to cast up a new chest piece for my Grendizer.

The sickle you see below was from a custom set I made with aluminum powder and resin for a possible
different end look.
The Chest Piece
The Shooting Fist
I didn't take much at all for photos for fixing the shooting fist.  I will tell you, I did cut the fist off the cuff and made
repair to the fist and added a wrist stump like my other
modular fists have.

I did make a copy of the left fist and modified it to add to the modular fist collection molds.

I also decided to take out the "in-shoulder" shooting mechanism and made a copy of the parts.  One of copies went
into a Mazinga on this
page.

I didn't copy the popy version cuff, but used my mattel version cuff and red blade sleeve with the reproduction popy
fist instead.  It just wasn't worth the time and expense to make 2 special reproduction parts for the restoration.

Also pictured below, is a set of my reproduction popy sickles.
Harkens
Thanks again to Arthur, I was able to make my own reproduction popy Grendizer sickles or harkens, if you prefer.

I only made the head piece, the shaft is 3/8" bought plastic tubing and use rare earth magnets for combining the handles.
The Grendizer below is Arthur's, and he took a few photos of the reproduction harkens that I sent him.
Things to do yet (12-28-11)
I need to paint the patched lower torso area
Need to put the head back on
Decide on whether to keep the silver waist band or have a friend (WillOhio) make a cool reproduction sticker
Add the feet stickers or make special red plastic covers instead
Most likely a good cleaning and polish as well for the guy
