Customizable Shogun Fists
Taking a Mattel Grendizer and making it look more like a Popy version.
At least for the left fist that is.
Going from this, to this ------------------->
with a quick change of the
Mazinga three missile shooter
to a custom made fist.
I want to thank Robot Japan forum member WillOhio for loaning me his Grendizer fist and
taking these photos for me, as I don't have a Grendizer of my own yet.
Personally, I think the Mattel version Grendizer looks frickin' awesome with a matching
left arm now.

Now, I would love to upgrade the legs as well. But that isn't on the short or long board of
things to do or try.
This photo has the original right fist on Grendizer, while the above photos have him
sporting a reproduction right fist.
This photo shows the original fist on the left side
and the custom made 2 piece modular fist on the right.
See this page for more information and details on the modular fists.
The fist color is very close to the original, but with different lighting, they do
give off a slight different hue from the vinyl and the 2 part urethane plastic
resin.
The reproduction fist is hollow, but is a little heavier than the original, but is
quite durable and has some flexibility (not hard as a rock).
The red triangle outer sleeve is made with a pliable plastic resin and has
close to the same feel as the original. The piece can flex a good deal, but
one should not attempt to try and remove it as the circular part will not
stretch and it will end up cracked.
I do have a more "rubbery" sleeve that will stretch and could be used for an
original replacement if needed. But, the triangle pieces will sag outward
soon and may require to 'contact cement' them some to the main sleeve for
a nicer appearance.

Thought I would show you a cut away section of the sleeve.
As mentioned, the fist is heavier than the original as the wrist area and the
fist are made to work with my modular design. I also thickened the sleeve
area where the shoulder butt end piece ends. I wanted the fist to have less
"slop" movement and be able to attach the arm with some resistance, and
not like GaiKing's arm where swear the shoulder is going to break since it
comes off or goes on really hard.
